Spotlight: Lotts & Co - where food shopping feels like a treat
Share
Just off Bath Avenue in Dublin 4 sits one of our favourite places to browse. Lotts & Co is the kind of shop that turns a simple grocery run into a full-blown food experience. If it’s not the wine, it’s the cheese. If it’s not the coffee, it’s the condiments. Whatever you’re in the mood for, Lotts & Co makes it feel like a treat.
This is a shop that cares about flavour. With a focus on local producers, international gems and best-in-class ingredients, Lotts & Co brings together a mix of everyday staples and exciting discoveries. You’ll find challenger brands next to classics, and everything on the shelf feels like it’s been handpicked by someone who really knows their stuff. No gimmicks. Just great food, chosen with grá.
A few of our go-tos
Our usual spot is the Bath Avenue location in Dublin 4. We often pop in “just for a browse” and somehow leave with armfuls of treats. You’ll find everything from beautifully marbled FX Buckley steaks to fridge pizzas from Dublin Pizza Company that feel anything but average.
Some recent favourites include:
- Harry’s Nut Butter — sweet, salty and seriously addictive
- Sheridan’s cheese — never a wrong move
- Achill Island Sea Salt — the kind of finishing touch that makes a dish
- Clo Chocolates — Galway-made and gift-worthy (if they last that long)
- A bottle of natural wine from their ever-changing wall of picks
We usually try to limit ourselves to one new product per visit, but it rarely works. Every corner has something beautiful. It’s the kind of place you could spend hours in and still discover something new.
The kind of shop that gets it
Lotts & Co isn’t just a nice place to shop. It’s a celebration of great food. They give shelf space to makers with passion and point of view — the same kind of producers we champion at Made with Grá. There’s a strong sense of care in how everything is presented, from the layout to the labelling to the seasonal specials.
There are now three locations across Dublin: South Lotts Road, Clontarf, and Beggar’s Bush. Each one has its own personality, but they all share the same ethos — good food, sourced well, served with style. It’s not the cheapest shop in town, but it’s one we return to when we want something special. Whether you’re planning a dinner party or just picking up a snack for yourself, Lotts & Co makes it feel like a moment.
